Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving my parents came out to visit, what a great surpise! They stayed with us for 9 days and hopefully we kept them busy enough! Some of the things we did are: we went to the zoo, we went out for dinner on my birthday and afterwards we went over to the mall to listen to some jazz music, we went and watched the skydivers and had a picnic lunch, we went to the train park, we went to the flee market(my kids first experience with that), my parents were very nice and bought them each a little something from there, I took my mom out to go shopping and out to lunch while my dad stayed and played with Max, and we ended their visit with going to the movies and out for pizza.
My dad even brought a 1000 piece puzzle for us to do, and I am sad to say that we didn't finish it, oh well, there is always next year. Thanks for coming out and staying with us grandma and grandpa, we had a blast!

Jungle Book

Luke and Madi decided that they wanted to try out for the play Jungle Book at the local family theater here in Queen Creek. They both got to be hip-hop elephants! They had so much fun dancing and singing up on stage! It is so fun to see them do something that they really enjoy.

Waterpark in November??

The kids were begging us to set up our waterpark, which we thought we retired for the winter. We gave in and set it up on Nov. 8th, I can't believe that they actually went on it, CRAZY KIDS!!

Happy Halloween!!!

This year for Halloween we went to a trunk-or-treat at our church. I really like it this way, not having to go door to door and get scared by the weirdos out there. It is safe, you don't have to worry about the candy plus you are just walking car to car so you don't get tired. They had a Chilli for dinner and had games set up for the kids to play, it was a lot of fun! Luke dressed up as two-face, he is from batman, Madi dressed up as a witch, and Max was batman. Oh, I can't forget us, Curt was a kung fu master and Lori was a doctor. Maybe next year we will do a family theme, I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Families can be together forever...(Ut/Wy trip)

We had a great time seeing our family at GG's funeral. Sunday we went over to Curt's cousin Jenny's house for Aiden's birthday, it was fun to be able to be there for that , since we don't get to see them that much. The kids had fun playing with their long distance cousins, we hardly saw them! It was great to see everyone and I'm sure grandma was looking down on us with a big smile, she always liked to get everyone together. Her funeral went well, the kids sang' "families can be together forever", and they did a great job. Luke said it was kinda hard to sing because he was so sad but he made it through. We all miss GG, her caring heart, her humor and her hugs but we know that she is with her husband again and we know that we will see her again someday. We love you GG, until we meet again...

Snow!!! (Utah/WY trip part 3)

We decided to leave for Wy Sat. morning instead of Sun. because the weather channel said that there was a storm coming Sat. night. We left around noon and got up to Evanston Wy, when they closed the freeway down. We were stuck there for around 4 hours, and let me tell you that there is not a whole lot to do there. The kids however had a blast playing in(whats that called, oh yeah, snow)! Madi loved it, she couldn't get enough of it, and was sad when we had to get back into the car. We got back on the road and everything was going o.k. for about an hour when the real fun started. Semi trucks were everywhere, there was black ice everywhere and lots and lots of wind. My kids thought we were going to die! They have never seen this kind of weather and it was freaking them out! Curt asked me to say a prayer, and after I did, it seemed to calm them down. At one point we were on;y going around 20 miles an hour, very scary to drive through a blizzard! Needless to say, we decided that we had enough of driving for the night and we got a hotel room with our cousins. The best was the next morning when Max woke up he said, "Where the heck am I". He was a little confused since he fell asleep in the car and therefore he had no idea that we got a hotel room. The kids thought it was cool that all 8 of us shared a hotel room, one big slumber party!

I love to see the temple... (Utah trip part 2)

I'm going there someday...

While we were up in Utah we decided to take the kids to temple square. We had a great time walking around the temple grounds, it is always so beautifully taken care of. The flowers are an amazing site and of course so is the temple. The kids got to see a lot of grooms and brides that day getting pictures taken, and so they asked us questions about when we got married. I just love their curiosity on this subject! Anyways, we had a great time there and we also visited Brigham Youngs house and had lunch at the Lion's house(good old-fashioned food)!

Up to Utah again... (part 1)

My husband called me from work Tues. morning to let me know the sad news of his grandma passing away. We decided that all of us needed to be there so we packed up the car that night and headed for Utah the next morning. We stayed at the Allers Inn( Mike and Wendy, Curts brothers house), for 2 nights. The kids had a blast hanging out with their cousins, Max loves Nicks room! Mike and Wendy surprised Max with a birthday donut on Friday(his birthday is on the 10th), he was in Heaven, he loves donuts! We took the kids up to Rock Canyon that morning to goof around up in the mountains, it was really cold so we didn't last to long being outside!

Happy Birthday Max!

I can't believe that my baby is 5! He had his first friend Birthday party on Oct. 3rd. We did a Halloween theme, I love that his birthday is in October! We played pin the nose on the pumpkin, dig up spiders in sandbox, we had a bat pinata and we made stick puppets. Max had a lot of fun with all of his little friends.
Happy Birthday Max, we love you so much and are so blessed to have you in our family.

Down on the farm!

Max had a fieldtrip a few weeks ago at Schnepf farms so I decided to take Luke and Madi with us. Of course they were excited to get out of school for the day, and all of them had a blast! They all wanted to ride the train first so we did and then they wanted to check out the rides. One nice thing for us is that hardly anyone was there so no waiting to get on the rides for us! They loved the swings and they stayed on them a couple times in a row because no one was in line. After the rides we went and watched the pig race, Max really got a kick out of that! That lasted for 20 mins or so and we decided that it was a good time to have lunch. After lunch the kids wanted to ride the train again, so we did. We also went to a dog frisbee show and we all loved that! This one dog caught 15 in a row, pretty amazing! The kids had fun on the hayride, on one stop we got to feed the deers and on the other stop we went through the maze, that didn't last to long, the kids got a little scared! Off to the rides again, Luke and Madi wanted to do the rock wall and they did great, Luke made it to the top! All of them wanted to check out the animals so we did and this one goat really liked Max and followed him around, Max was a little nervous and asked his sister to come rescue him! We ended the day by picking out pumpkins, it was a great day down on the farm!
