Snow in the backyard??

On our way home from Flagstaff the kids wanted to bring some snow home so our dog Sammy can see it. We filled up our little cooler and brought some home. Sammy wasn't interested in it at all! The kids thought it was so cool to have some snow in their backyard, it didn't last long, melted the next day, it was fun while it lasted.

Flagstaff here we come!

My kids wanted to see and play in snow, I couldn't believe it! We all get cold when it is in the 50's, how are we going to survive in the cold? Luckily we had some warm clothes, and luckily it wasn't very cold when we went. We went up on New Years Day with the Hite family and played in the snow! We checked into the hotel first and after that we went over to a park and had a snowball fight! The kids had a blast and so did us grownups. The next day we bought a sled and went to a place called Wing Mountain, and boy was that fun! They had so many sizes of hills, some for the beginners, and the big one for the brave ones out there. The kids had a blast, they were so happy to be there and it wasn't cold, which made me happy. Madi and Sadie are our brave ones that day, they went to the biggest hill and tackled it with flying colors! Maybe next year our big boys will do it! Even little Max went down the big hill with his dad, he said it was fun but he didn't do it again. We are going to have to do it again because now we are proud owners of a sled, and there isn't much use of it down here in the sunny valley!

Christmas morning

I thought my kids would wake up super early on Christmas, they didn't. I am not complaining, I am ok about it, I just thought they would of been up before 6am! Max was the first one up(a little before 7am) and he was just waiting patiently out in the loft, I asked him if he went and looked at the things santa brought him and he said, "I am waiting for everyone to get up before I go". What a nice boy! He didn't even attempt to wake us up! I told him to go downstairs to see what he got, so he went and soon after he got down there we heard a "YES, that is so cool"! He came running back upstairs and he was grinning from ear to ear! Madi woke up next, and was very excited to see what she got so we woke Luke up and we went downstairs to tackle all the presents they got. Everyone was very happy about all the things they got, which makes it another successful year for us.

Making Santa cookies

My kids insisted on making some cookies for santa and they wanted to do it all by themselves. I put some sugar cookie dough on some wax paper so they each had their own to roll out. It was fun to watch them roll it out, they were all very serious at their work! I bet santa really enjoyed those cookies, they were made with love! And yes, the kids checked on them in the morning to see if he ate them!

Preschool Christmas program

Max had so much fun at his little program at school, he loves to sing! The first part of the program the kids were little waiters, and they seated the parents and gave them a menu and they served the parents the food they ordered, very cute idea, and the kids thought that was so much fun! They also sang some songs, Max loves jingle bells and the Gingerbread man song! He is growing up so fast, I can't believe that he is almost done with preschool!

Frosting cookies

The kids wanted to make cookies for FHE, and they wanted to make gingerbread cookies. I didn't feel like making the gingerbread so I sent Curt to the store to see if they had the already made stuff, no luck, he came back with sugar cookie dough. I told the kids we can still make gingerbread men but it will be with this kind of dough instead. They were fine with that, I think they would frost just about anything, they just like to get messy and eat the frosting, don't we all?

A visit with Santa

Madi and Max really wanted to go see Santa at the mall, Luke on the otherhand really wasn't that interested but we went as a family. We stood in line for about 15 mins., which I didn't think was bad. Max was very curious, he kept checking on Santa every few minutes. Madi and Max decided that they would go together on Santa's lap, I couldn't even get Luke to stand by him, luke is too cool for that I guess! The night before we went to see Santa, we watched the movie Elf, and there is a scene where Santa comes for the kids and Elf told him, "Your not the real Santa, look at your beard its fake"! Well, Max was really studying Santa, just kept staring at him. When the kids were done, Max came running to me and said, " Mom, he was the real santa, I saw whiskers coming out of his neck"! Max was a very happy boy that night!
